MARDIPLO S.A. had the distinct honour of attending the 79th Indonesian Independence Day celebration, held on October 18th at the InterContinental Athenaeum Hotel in Athens, Greece. This year’s celebration also marked a significant milestone— 75 years of diplomaticrelations between Greece and Indonesia, a testament to the enduring bond between the two nations.
The occasion emphasised Indonesia’s maritime significance, as the world’s largest archipelagic state and a key player in global maritime trade. Indonesia’s strategic position in international shipping routes, coupled with its historical maritime tradition, aligns closely with Greece’s own maritime heritage, making the maritime sector a critical area of collaboration between the two nations. This connection was emphasised in speeches by guests of Honour, Ms. Olga Kefalogianni, Minister of Tourism of Greece as well as Mr. Konstantinos Fragogiannis, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Openness.
Additionally, the event underscored the importance of the recently signed Plan of Action 2023-2028, which outlines key initiatives for advancing economic cooperation between the two nations. The Indonesia-Hellenic Business Forum, which focuses on trade, tourism, and investment, continues to play a pivotal role in this partnership, furthering bilateral ties in key economic sectors.
We sincerely thank the Ambassador H.E. Mr. Bebeb Abdul Kurnia Nugraha Djundjunan
for their invitation and look forward to continuing our engagement and cooperation.
