On 27th of December, Dr. Mary Papaschinopoulou, Founding Partner and Director of MARDIPLO S.A., had the honour of paying a courtesy call on the Deputy Head of the Lithuanian Mission, Mr. Mindaugas Vyskupaitis, at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Athens.
Situated on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea, Lithuania serves as a gateway between Northern Europe and the wider continent. With its major port of Klaipeda, efficient logistics networks and growing maritime expertise, the country has become a key hub for regional trade. Today, Lithuania continues to expand its role in global trade, using its strategic location to connect markets and foster innovation in the shipping sector.
The meeting provided a valuable platform to present Maritime Corporate Diplomacy, MARDIPLO’s area of expertise, as an innovative tool for resolving protracted maritime disputes. Finding common interest in EU affairs, Mr. Vyskupaitis and Dr. Papaschinopoulou discussed the current EU legislative period and recent maritime incidents in the Baltic Sea.
They also discussed MARDIPLO’s major academic initiative, “Blue Corporate Diplomacy Training Programme”, which aims to equip young diplomats and government officials with the expertise to meet future challenges in the Blue Economy.
We would like to thank Mr. Mindaugas Vyskupaitis for the welcome and engaging discussion. We look forward to future cooperation through economic diplomacy and innovation.
