MARDIPLO MEETING WITH AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF TUNISIA IN ATHENS

13 / 03 / 2024

On the 7th of March Dr. Mary Papaschinopoulou had the honour of meeting with H.E. Mrs. Souad Trabelsi, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to the Hellenic Republic, at the premises of the Embassy in Psichiko.

Tunisia has a rich maritime history dating back to the days of the ancient Carthage, as well as robust trading relations with Greece. The shipping trade sector remains one of the country’s most lucrative industry with some of the most important ports in the region, an outstanding 1300 km of port chain along its coastline and a network of maritime-related infrastructure, all of which solidify its shipping prominence in North Africa.

H.E. the Ambassador and Dr. Mary immersed in a rich and meaningful dialogue, exploring the nuanced dimensions of MARDIPLO’s “Blue Diplomacy” and its added value in dispute resolution and business development in the maritime sector. They further focused on MARDIPLO’s Academy, exploring the prospect of offering specialized training courses in Blue Diplomacy for aspiring young diplomats.

In the uplifting spirit of International Women’s Day, both ladies actively participated in insightful discussions regarding female empowerment within the realms of diplomacy, public governance, and entrepreneurship.

We express our sincere gratitude following this engaging encounter and we are eager to foster enhanced collaboration between MARDIPLO and the Embassy of Tunisia in the near future.
