Appointed by shipowner members of The London P&I Club it is with great pleasure that MARDIPLO can report its recent success in Bangladesh, facilitating the settlement of some complex and long standing claims which had proved resistant to resolution to the satisfaction of all parties.
This is MARDIPLO’s second success for The London P&I Club. Using our extensive international network of official channels to open doors and, by building trust with local public and private sector stakeholders, we create opportunities to negotiate and engage as necessary to achieve an amicable resolution.
MARDIPLO’s successful intervention demonstrates the shipping industry’s keen interest in a negotiated solution in jurisdictions where the tools of early intervention and mediation are less commonly employed and in a tense international geopolitical environment. The pursuit of a lengthy and uncertain legal process is often undesirable. The alternative avenue of maritime diplomacy undeniably leads to a faster, cost and reputation saving outcome and to mutual satisfaction in circumstances where claimants are reluctant to engage and negotiate. MARDIPLO offers an effective, transparent and sophisticated intervention that can kick-start this alternative avenue.
